Quarterly Meeting - Tuesday, February 1, 2011

I. Select Gatekeeper
II. The minutes of the August 21, 2010 quarterly meeting were approved. Beier moved, Camp seconded. Carried.
III. Treasurer Zielinski’s report approved. Thompson moved, Beier seconded approval of report. Carried. Chr Svetnicka emphasized Commission oversight and the Commissons’s confidence in Dave as treasurer. Walt Camp will get a quote on cost of bonding the treasurer.
IV. Committee Reports
A. Lake Registry, District Boundaries, Lakeside address signs
Lake Registry – Zielinski presented letter from Mary Platner and a copy of lake map and directory. There is a parcel number index and an alphabetical cross reference to the owners last name. A motion by Beier to print, laminate and list addresses. Camp seconded. Carried.
The concern for lakeshore aesthetics overrides the address signs on the shoreline. Chr Svetnicka will check on possibility of 3 access signs before May 21, 2011 meeting. Access signs: Moon Beach, Schultz’s Boat Landing, Public Landing.
B. Fish Stocking/Cribs/Brushing – Harris reported on fish stocking. On October 12, 2010, 38 muskies were stocked in Moon Lake and 18 muskies in Alma Lake. Walleyes will be stocked in 2011. The fish cribs will be looked at in the spring of 2011.
C. Water Quality/Level –Beier reported the lakes froze over November 26, 2010.
D. Web page – Klingsporn reported the web site has to be registered annually for $15. An email for Alma-Moon@gmail.com was created. Advertising policy on web site, no action. The commission chose not to participate with the lake rental units offer. Thompson moved. Beier seconded. Carried.
E. Town of St. Germain Lakes Committee – Camp reported the Town of St. Germain Lakes Committee will continue to provide placemats and coasters for local businesses. The Lakes Committee will man the exhibit on Memorial Day Weekend, July 4th and Labor Day Monday Flea Markets. Zielinski will coordinate the schedule. The Lakes Committee budget is in good shape as a result of revenue from the room tax.
Zielinski reminded Commissioners to complete monitoring forms and send to him in one week (from date of meeting).
V. Shoreland Restoration – Chr Svetnicka said report is completed week of February 1, 2011. The legal work with a 1400’ easement is finalized. Rabbit fencing will be done in the spring. Monitoring of the site will be 8 years.
There have been 4 tree drops. 30 one-half logs are anchored to cement blocks around the tree drops. All vendors have been paid. The District treasury will be paying Moon Beach $12,221 as the final transfer.
VI. Past Lake Leaders/Stewards of Our Waters/Lake History Document – no report.
VII. Comments from District Residents/Other -
- Wisconsin Association of Lakes Meeting, April 12-14, 2011, Green Bay. Van Hefty, Thompson and Beier have been authorized to attend.
- Chr Svetnicka and Zelinski will get out notices of the Annual Meeting, July 2, 2011. A potluck lunch will be held after the meeting.
- The Commission will do the 2011-2012 budget preparation at the next meeting.
- Zelinski motioned to donate $50 to Loon Watch for complimentary posters. Beier seconded. Carried.
The next Alma Moon LPRD Quarterly Meeting is Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 9:00 AM at Moon Beach Camp.
